Consultant
Consultants at COMPENDIUM are a key analytical resource on any engagement team, and are focused on high performance work. The Consultant position requires an understanding of best practices combined with practical experience in the use of formal methodologies and structured analysis techniques. A Consultant supports management of a broad range of initiatives including the creation and implementation of technology and business solutions. The ability to make formal and informal presentations and communicate effectively in business terms is crucial. Must be a self-starter, with solid communication, and team interaction skills.
3 to 5 years previous consulting experience and a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or other relevant field is typical for this position. A Consultant's compensation is primarily comprised of a base salary or, for part-time employees an hourly rate.
Senior Consultant
Senior Consultants at COMPENDIUM have made the transition from being individual contributors to engagement leaders who are responsible for learning about the current challenges and concerns the organization is facing. A Senior Consultant contributes to engagement work plan development, reaching engagement milestones, and often leading specific project tasks to completion within scope and budget. Senior Consultants will leverage their experience and leadership skills to organize teams that assist in the delivery of client solutions. Being an effective leader, who has strong collaboration and client-interaction skills are crucial. A Senior Consultant will also assist with efforts in sales and engagement management.
5 to 10 years previous consulting and/or relevant industry experience combined with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or other relevant field is typical for this position. A Senior Consultant's compensation is comprised of a base salary and a discretionary bonus.
Senior Manager
A Senior Manager is a mid to senior-level position. They lead complex engagements by providing strong management and direction to teams to deliver results. Senior Managers at COMPENDIUM work closely with our clients to learn about the current challenges and concerns the organization is facing. A Senior Manager ensures engagement scope is consistent with overall firm and client objectives. They assume responsibility for outlining project work plans and milestones. They manage engagement issues, project resources, budget activities, quality control practices, and project deliverables. A Senior Manger maintains a constant flow of communication with the client and project team and provides technical direction and experience. The Managing Consultant assumes responsibility for proper implementation of business solutions and overall project performance. Senior Managers will act as mentors and coaches to develop their teams and they will assist in developing intellectual property. Although their focus will be primarily in client delivery, Senior Managers can also expect to have business development and account management responsibilities.
10-15 years previous consulting and/or relevant industry experience combined with an advanced degree (e.g. MBA) or coursework towards an advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or other relevant field is typical for this position. A Senior Managers compensation is comprised of a base salary and discretionary bonuses based on sales and profitability of engagement.
Director
A Director is a senior to executive-level manager who has responsibility for overall project activities and is the primary point of contact with client executives or sponsor. The Director will work closely with our clients to learn about the current challenges and will add value by serving as a strategic advisor who provides timely analysis, recommendations and as necessary, training to our clients. They will take the lead role and assume direct responsibility for project delivery and oversight. They represent the core values of COMPENDIUM leadership and will develop our teams by mentoring, coaching and inspiring them to become the same. A Director will be counted on to provide input into company direction, lead the development of intellectual property, play an active role in supporting client delivery teams, and be responsible for engagement management and new business development.
15+ years as a senior to executive-level manager in consulting and/or relevant executive-level industry experience combined with an advanced degree (e.g. MBA, PHD) in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or other relevant field is typical for this position. A Director's compensation is comprised of a base salary, discretionary bonuses based on billable hours, sales and profitability of engagement as well as eligibility for pension.
Managing Director or Managing Partner
A Managing Director (or Managing Partner) works with the top-level management of our client firms, to build lasting relationships, and ensure the successful realization of client outcomes. They provide strong executive-level management and direction while possessing a broad understanding of the client's industry. They will take the lead role in providing oversight of consulting projects for client organizations and add value for these organizations by serving as a strategic advisor, providing timely analyses, recommendations and as necessary, training to agency management and staff. A Managing Director has an extensive tool set of skills to solve the client's problems and helps the client visualize where they need to be in their particular industry. They are responsible for managing COMPENDIUM's capabilities and resources based on geography, industry, and/or accounts and have direct profit and loss responsibilities.
20+ years as a executive-level manager in consulting and/or relevant executive-level industry experience combined with an advanced degree (e.g. MBA, PHD) in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or other relevant field is typical for this position.
